Mainstream Awarded Grants to Expand Service in 5 Counties
The Indiana Office of Community & Rural Affairs (OCRA) announced awards for round three of the Next Level Connections broadband grant program. OCRA awarded $189 million in round three to fund more than 150 broadband projects throughout the state of Indiana, expanding broadband access to nearly 53,000 homes and businesses.
Mainstream Fiber Networks has been awarded $8.2 million to expand our network into Bartholomew, Benton, Gibson, Pike, and Posey Counties. These funds will be used to bring gigabit-speed fiber optic internet to more than 700 unserved homes and businesses in these communities.
Mainstream Fiber is excited to receive these awards to provide more communities with fast and dependable broadband access. This is the core of our mission: to bring affordable, reliable broadband service into underserved areas.
As we are in the very preliminary stages of this project, information regarding service routes and timelines are not currently available. We will continue to update our website at msfiber.net as work progresses.
